James Shindler

DENISON - James Herman Shindler, 68, entered into eternal light Saturday, March 9, 2013 at LifeCare Hospitals in Plano.

Mr. Shindler was born Aug. 19, 1944 in Denison, the son of Otis and Lorine (Beshears) Shindler. He married the love of his life, Shirley Reeves March 8, 1963 in Denison. James was a hardworking man and jack of all trades, from building their home and to the maintenance of it. He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a big fan. He had such a kind and giving heart. James never met a stranger, he leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love of family and of God and of respect. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Shindler is survived by his beloved family, wife of 50 years, Shirley Shindler of Denison; daughters, Lisa Collins of Denison, Angela Clark of Denison, and Greta Vanlandingham and husband Rodney of Hartford, Ky.; and son, Jeff Shindler of Denison; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Shindler of Denison, and Glenn Shindler and wife Beverly of Mustang, Okla.; sisters, Lou Shindler of Indiana, Linda Springs and husband Larry of Callisburg, and Millie Steele of Denison.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church, 1710 Woodlawn Blvd in Denison with Pastor Herlan Summers officiating.
