SHERMAN - Johnny was born Jan. 8, 1956 in Sherman, Texas to Carl Bedford Ford and Martha Jo (Dillon) Ford. Mr. Ford passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Sherman at the age of 56. Johnny was raised in Sherman. He worked at Sherman Wire for 20 years and the past five years at Tyson Foods in which he had perfect attendance. Johnny was a workaholic and spent many hours working on vehicles in his garage with his brother Paul. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to flea markets, watching movies, and was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns. Johnny's ultimate joy was spending time with his family.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carolyn Crosby.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Nita of Sherman, sons Travis Ford of Plano, Texas, Jonathan Ford of Denison, Texas, and Shad Copeland of Hollis, Okla., daughters Starla Turner and her husband, Nick of Denison, and Amanda Jo Ford of Denison, seven grandchildren, brothers Donnie Ford and his wife, Judy of Sherman, and Paul Ford and his wife, Gail of Sherman, sisters June Bell and her husband, Jim of Kingsville, Mo., and Lisa Ford of Dallas, Texas, step-children Michael Black of Pryor, Okla., and Christina Black of Durant, Okla., father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Davenport of Soper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services to celebrate Johnny's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Davenport officiating. Mr. Ford will be laid to rest in Bokchito Cemetery, Bokchito, Okla. Serving as casket bearers will be Nick Turner, Carl Ford, Jonathan Ford, Manuel Garcia, Michael Black and Robert Hargrove. Honorary casket bearer will be Christopher Ford.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 5 -7 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.
