SHERMAN - Joshua McCaleb, 27, passed away Saturday May 17, 2014 in Sherman. Visitation will be held Wednesday 6 -8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Father Antonio Aureus and Deacon William Farber will officiate. At the conclusion of the mass, military honors will be presented. Following the services, Mr. McCaleb will be cremated.
Joshua was born October 2, 1986 in Sherman to Ben McCaleb Jr. and Linda (Faber) McCaleb. He had spent the past eight years in the U.S. Marines and completed two tours of duty in Iraq. Joshua was a devoted father who enjoyed spending evenings around a campfire with his friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Brooklyn McCaleb of Sherman; parents, Ben McCaleb Jr. and Linda McCaleb of Sherman; brother, Ben McCaleb III. and wife Caroline on Monterrey, Calif.; two sisters, Sabrina McCaleb Schroder of Texas and Sarah McCaleb of Denton; nephew, Collin Schroder of Colorado Springs, Colo.; niece, Kayley McCaleb of Monterrey, Calif.; nephew, Ben McCaleb IV of Monterrey, Calif.; grandmother, Charlotte Huntsman of Howe; grandfather, James Farber of Kimberling City, Mo.; best friend, Brandon Berkey of Sherman; and ex-wife, Catherine Whismann of Sherman.
