Lucy E. (Norman) Williams

SHERMAN - Services for Lucy (Norman) Williams will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Grace Lutheran Church in Denison with Rev. Michael Mattil officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Trenton Williams, Kurt Kallmann, Kevin Austin, Reggie Williams, and Hunter Williams.

Mrs. Williams passed from this life on Friday, Feb. 21, at Beacon Hill Assisted Living in Denison, Texas at the age of 97. The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24 at Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla.

Lucy was born on Sunday, June 18, 1916 at Marshfield, Missouri to Wilber and Mary (Marshall) Norman. She married James Orville Williams on June 11, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. They were married forty-two years until his passing in 1980.

Mr. Williams was employed by American Airlines and his career took the family to Chicago, New York, Memphis, Bedford and to Tulsa. Mrs. Williams worked as a homemaker most of her life taking care of their two sons. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and more recently her time was spent quilting, embroidering, gardening and playing Skipbo. Mrs. Williams was also very active with the Snap Center at Tom Bean.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Douglas Steven Williams, and 3 brothers.

Survivors include her sons James Franklin Williams and wife Glenda of Tom Bean, and Richard Edward Williams Sr. of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Richard E. Williams Jr. and wife Beth of Oklahoma City, Michele C. Kallmann and husband Kurt of North Richland Hills, Michael J. Williams and wife Holly of Allen, and Sheri Kaye Plasker and husband Mark of Portland; great grandchildren Trenton J. Williams, Chase R. Williams and Hunter Williams; former daughters-in-law Mary Meadows and Roberta Williams both of OKC, step-son Kevin Austin and wife Dana Quintana of Austin, with their sons Zackary and Vincent Austin; step-son Jimmy Jones of Tulsa, and step-daughter Cheryl.
