Mac Kyle(1930 - 2014)

SHERMAN - Mac Kyle, 83, passed away May 21, 2014 at Homestead of Sherman. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 23, 2014 at Grand Avenue Presbyterian Church in Sherman. Rev. Lander Bethel will officiate. A reception will follow the memorial service.

Mac was born September 28, 1930 in Sherman to Charles Fred Kyle and Julia (McAfee) Kyle. He married Jean Forbes on June 18, 1955 in Sherman. Mac served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served on the city council and was mayor during the 1960's in Sherman. Mac worked from 1968-1978 in the Middle East for the Presbyterian Church as an asset manager. He continued working in the Middle East for Steel Case for the next fifteen years as a business administrator. In spare time he enjoyed reading, golfing, and travel.

Mac is survived by his wife Jean Kyle of Sherman; three sisters, Frances Watson of San Angelo, TX; Julia Ann Totten of Austin, TX; and Gene Harper of Norman, OK; two brothers, Jerry Kyle and wife Jill of Brenham, TX; and John Kyle of Prosper, TX; granddaughter, Harley Holloman of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sons, Steve and John Kyle.
