DENISON - Marianne Marburger entered into heavenly rest Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 6:40 p.m. surrounded by family and friends. Marianne was born on June 13, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Howard and Berdeen Rebholz. She attended West High School in Waterloo, Iowa. After which she attended the University of Iowa
. She majored in Speech Pathology, receiving her Masters Degree. While attending the University she met and married Gary Marburger in 1967. They have been happily married for 46 years.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Gary Marburger of Sherman, Texas and sons, Blaine and Blake Marburger, proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Tatum, Dane and Calvin Marburger, brother, Jim Rebholz and wife, Carole of Prescott Valley, Ariz., sister, Karen Monroe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and brother-in-law, Ron Whittaker and wife, Sally of Iowa City, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marianne had a long and rewarding career in Speech Therapy. It was her life's work as well as her passion. She worked for the Easter Seals/Grayson County Center for 14 years, where she specialized in pediatrics. From then on she worked in a variety of settings including Geriatrics and Home Health. Most recently as a staff therapist for Texoma Medical Center. She helped improve the quality of life for many children and adults. Everyone who knew her as a patient, friend and colleague found her to be kindhearted, caring, honest, and a remarkable person. She was a wonderful friend, co-worker, neighbor, mother, sister, grandmother, and wife. Traveling with her husband was her passion at this point in her life as well as being there for her grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Mark Martin officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to all the healthcare professionals involved in her care. As for the staff of The Medical Center of Plano you have our utmost respect for the care we received. Near the end of her life we received the most thoughtful, compassionate, and attentive care. We could not have held ourselves together without it.
