Mary Pratt(1929 - 2014)

Bonham - Graveside services for Mary Allie Pratt, age 85 of Bonham, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Willow Wild Cemetery. Nephew Patrick Warren will officiate the service. Mrs. Pratt went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 7, 2014.

Mary Allie (Epley) Pratt was born on February 15, 1929 in the Boyd Community of Bonham, TX the youngest daughter of Martin Luster Epley and Mary Belle "Mabel" Kelley Epley. She attended schools in Bonham and graduated from Bonham High School with her class of 1946. The Telephone Company employed Mary after she graduated, and she was married to the love of her life James W. Pratt at the First Assembly of God Church in Bonham, TX. by Rev. Dudley R. Pratt on October 1, 1949 surrounded by her Sisters and Brother-in-laws, Lela and Forrest Seals, and Ruth and Pat Warren and many friends.

Mary was raised in the First Methodist Church in Bonham where she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of her life at an early age, and continued in her faith raising her children and grandchildren to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

Mary worked and retired from the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center June of 1995 where she worked as telephone operator in the MAS Department. The joys of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known by her children as having great love for their Daddy, and compassion for God's creatures. She would put water out for the ants and turtles around her flower beds in her yard, enjoyed Humming Birds, and even cooked corn bread in the evenings to feed 6 pet crows that came to eat and depended upon her for their breakfast every morning.

Mary was the most wonderful, faithful, loving Wife, Mother, and MeeMaw that any family could ever be blessed with.

Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years James "Red" Pratt of the Boyd Community, three daughters Brenda Carolyn Baldwin and husband Carl Drew Baldwin, of Bonham, TX; Glenda Beth Arthur and husband Jeff Arthur of Denison, TX; Jamey Sue Pratt of Pottsboro, TX; and son James W. Pratt II "Jimmy" and wife Pam Pratt of Van Alstyne, TX. Nine grandchildren-Leigh Ann Castle, Jared Northcutt, Lori Beth and Cliff Ahhaitty, Emily Hanes, Elise Hanes, Michael Norris, Christina Lucas and Cody Lucas. Much loved great grandchildren-Shayne Castle, Addison Allie Grace Acosta, Kaleb Curry, Kaden Reynolds, Mia Ahhaitty, Kaelyn Michelle Norris, Gavin Cummins, Jacob Farris, and Noah James Lucas, and special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and Kelley cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother and sister-in-law, Martin R. Epley Sr. and wife Grace Epley of Sherman, TX; Clara Ruth Warren and brother-in-law Pat Warren, Lela Margaret Seals and brother-in-law Forrest Seals of Bonham, Sister-in-law Evelyn Pratt Norman and husband Alfred Norman of Denison, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Ray Pratt, Larry Pratt, Richard Pratt, Grady Pratt, David Van Hooser, and Joe Clayton.
