DENISON - Mary Virginia Roberts, age 82, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Roberts was born February 28, 1932 in Denison, Texas the daughter of Willie Leon and Leona Pearl (Walker) Conner. She married the love of her life, William Roberts. Mary traveled the world with her husband while he was serving his country in the military. In 1972, they moved back to Denison and Mary went to work for Texas Instruments. She later retired with over 20 years of dedicated service to T. I. After retiring, Mary went to work for Wal-Mart, where she worked for ten years as a greeter. She was a member of the Eastern Star and St. Luke CME Church. Mary loved the Lord and her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her beloved family, daughters, Jackie Kelly and husband, Jimmie of Denison, Texas and Patricia Baker and husband, John of Oklahoma City, Okla. and son, Tommy D. Roberts and wife, Janet of Denison, Texas, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Roberts, parents and two brothers, Willie Conner Jr and Alvin Conner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at God's House of Faith & Worship Center with Rev. Dwight Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Family visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends and family at their home, 1716 West Parnell in Denison.
