Mary Sue Carpenter

BELLS - Mary Sue Carpenter, 77, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ.

Sue was born May 23, 1936 in Crowell, the daughter of Cleo and Doyle Parks. She attended schools in Corpus Christi and Dallas. While living in Big Spring, she met the love of her life, Wayne Carpenter. They married on July 20, 1957, and were together for 49 years until his death in 2006. She retired from General Electric in Morrison, Ill. Sue loved to garden and was an avid bird watcher. She also loved to play bingo and rarely missed a Saturday session at VFW Post 2773 in Denison. Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sue is survived by her beloved family, son, Stanley Carpenter and wife Diane of Bells; grandsons, Stanley Carpenter Jr and wife Jennifer of Cordova, Ill., Jason Carpenter and fiancé, Heather of Elizabeth, Ill.; granddaughter, Sara Carpenter of Bells; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Alexandra of Cordova, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; their son, David Carpenter; and sister, Jan Chamberlan.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Hermanson officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6 -7 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home.
