Richard was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Sherman to the late Frank and Harriet (Clark) Wright. He graduated from S&S Schools in 1966 and worked as a Brakeman for the Union Pacific and Katy Railroads for more than 30 years. Richard enjoyed riding his tractor, watching westerns, farming, welding, and tinkering with small engines. He will be remembered for his friendly nature and socializing spirit. He spent many evenings visiting with his friends and neighbors and driving around Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. In the last few months, Richard took great pride in watching his oil well being drilled on the family property.

Mr. Wright is survived by his daughter, Mandy Wright Womack and her husband Bryan of Sherman; two grandsons, Blayne and Kyler Womack; one brother, Walter Wright and wife Sherry Jones of Sadler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
