Tommy Lewis

POTTSBORO - Tommy "Tom" Joe Lewis passed away early Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 17, 1933 where he grew up and attended grade school, high school and went on to attend SMU. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, served as a flight engineer stationed in Tachikawa Japan during the Korean conflict. After serving in the military he returned to Dallas where he met his wife, Anita whom he was married to for 54 years. Tom was a fun loving person and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, football and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Anita of Pottsboro; daughter, Linda Pulsfort of Pottsboro; daughter, Lisa LaLonde and husband Jimmy of Canyon Lake; son, John T. Lewis and wife Shirley of Ardmore, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Peggy Marrs of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Pat Coakley of Burlington, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sister Nadine Meyer of Milwaukee, Wis.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Meyer of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was an active member at Lakeway UMC, volunteered for many years at the Boot Camp Air Chapel Community Learning Center. The 'Air Chapel' was near and dear to Tom and in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Air Chapel Scholarship Fund, 320 King Ave. Denison, TX.

Services will be held Monday, October 14 at 10 a.m. at Lakeway United Methodist Church, Pottsboro.
