Walker Boothe

SHERMAN – Walker Rex Boothe, 99, of Sherman passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ. The family will receive friends at Dannel Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Dannel Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Neill Morgan and Rev. Dr. John Williams officiating.

Mr. Boothe was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Lindsay, Okla., to Henry Clark Boothe and Mattie Ella Walker Boothe. During World War II, he proudly served his country overseas in the United States Army Air Corps. In 1949, he married Joanna Lea in Clovis, N.M. He enjoyed many successful years as an automobile dealer. He was a long-time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman.

Mr. Boothe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joanna Boothe; son, David Clark Boothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne Boothe, Del Boothe, Clovis Boothe, Carl Boothe, John Boothe and Jack Boothe; and one sister, Edith Arnold; two very special 'friends,' his dog Cricket and Jo-tu, his favorite cat, who lived to be 23 years old.
