Tami, I am so sorry to hear of this. I remember your Dad from years ago. I just lost my father and know what this means to you. I can only say it does not get easier, we just get through it. God will help you and your family find peace. Keep the memories alive, you will find the smiles. God Bless you all.

Ken was like a 2nd dad to me growing up in Howe. I loved all the time I spent there on the farm, swimming in the pond, running from the geese, and just hanging out. My only regret is not keeping in better contact with him over the years after I moved to Idaho although I thought of him often. My heart breaks for all who had the chance to know and love him. I pray that God can give you some comfort during this difficult time.

Terri, I find 'words' difficult to express for the special comforting a daughter would need in the loss of her father only 6 months from losing her husband! I pray the strength of the Lord is ever with you and HIS SPIRIT is an ever knowing comfort & peace. My only memory of your father is a 'good one'! After sitting visiting over coffee, he pushed that chair back & stood up, my memory being: him standing at the head of my dining table in that gold jumpsuit, hands in his pockets, grinning from ear to ear...jingling things in his pockets.... as I say: please stay for dinner, almost time... and thru his grin he says: naw.."jingling" there's a new boat near here just waiting to fill my pockets!!! hahaha That's why I wore something with BIG POCKETS and real roomy... wanted to have plenty of room to carry it all out!! hahaha That grin and sense of humor is a good thing to take with me! I know how you raised your children to have such cherishing respect & love for their grandparents and this will be especially hard on them! Hold tight to each other embraced by the Master's arms! Wish I was with you... Sympathy thoughts & prayers for your entire family during this time of loss; may this time of hurt & pain leave quickly on the wings of angels & left at Jesus' feet. Leaving behind only the GOOD Memories and that which will keep your DAD ALIVE to be shared for generations ahead. Maybe he too saw the spider lilies on his way out! Love & Hugs ~~John & Christie Chandler, Plain Dealing, LA.
