Dallas Butler Obituary
SHERMAN - Dallas Lee "Buzzy" Butler, age 76, joined his bride in Heaven Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Sherman, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Dannel Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m.

Dallas was born on April 28, 1938 in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Hubert Ralph Butler and Retta Cook Butler. Dallas is a graduate of New Martinsville High School in New Martinsville, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964.

Dallas met his wife of 50 years, Patricia Butler, while stationed at Camp Leroy Johnson in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple was married in Denison, Texas on September 6, 1963. They moved to Akron, Ohio where they raised their three children.

Dallas retired in 1993 after working 36 years for the East Ohio Gas Company. Upon retirement, Dallas, Patricia and their youngest daughter moved to Sherman, Texas.

Dallas has been reunited in death with his bride Patricia, parents, sisters Audrey Rihn and Edna Kroll, and brother Orville "Bud" Butler.

Dallas leaves behind his daughter Tracy Albert and her husband Mike of Green, Ohio; son Dale Butler and his wife Traci of North Lawrence, Ohio; daughter Sara Butler of Sherman, Texas; grandsons Zachary and Jacob Albert; brother Dale V. Butler of Green, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews and 'grandchildren of the heart.'

Until the Lord called him Home, Dallas was incredibly active and could be found busy in his woodshop among many projects and piles of sawdust. He was active in the Sherman FFA Booster Club from 1993 to 1997. Dallas was an avid Sherman Bearcat fan and attended almost every home game since moving to Sherman in the early 1990s.

He was often seen on his front porch with his beloved dog, Mr. Marley. Those who have had the honor of getting to know him could say, "he never knew a stranger." He will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by memorial donations to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX (75090), or online at

Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be registered at
