HOWE - Larry Anderson, 64, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013.|
Larry was born June 3, 1949 in Sherman, Texas to Jackie N. Anderson and Louise Benedict. Larry served four years in the United States Marine Corps as a gunnery sergeant. While in the military, Larry actively fought in the Vietnam War. This was an honor he wore often with Veteran hats, T-shirts and yelling out Hoorah!
After being honorably discharged he met and married the love of his life Ruth (Atwood) Anderson, they were married 36 years. He worked for Dwight Smith Farming and Machinery for over 25 years. He began working for South West Auction in Howe in 2001 until his passing. Larry's hobbies included fishing, bowling and watching old war movies, one of his favorites being Hamburger Hill.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Jackie Anderson and step father David Benedict.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Ruth (Atwood) Anderson; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Tae Kim; his favorite and only grandchild Olivia Faith Kim; Larry's mother Louise Benedict; brothers and sisters: Charles Anderson, David L. Anderson, Mike Anderson, Carol Thurmond, Janice Gann and Brenda Anderson.
Larry will forever be remembered for his big heart, quick sense of humor and love for his family. A memorial visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, at Waldo Funeral Home.
