SHERMAN - Services for Laveta Faye Beames Keeling will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Wes Willie officiating.|
Laveta will be laid to rest at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with James Beames, Bill Beames, Roger Beames, Terre Beames, Daren Beames and Eric Beames serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be her brother, Glen Beames.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st.
Laveta Faye was born Tuesday, June 18, 1945 in the Beames Community of Bennington, Oklahoma to George and Mary (Rhodes) Beames and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the age of 68. Laveta retired in 2012 as an education specialist working for Trailblazer in Denison for twenty- eight years.
She was active with VFW Post 2773 in Denison for about fifteen years serving as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for thirteen of those years, and one term of Ladies Auxiliary District 1 President.
Laveta was preceded in death by an infant child, parents, four siblings, one granddaughter and special friend James (Jim) Trimble.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Gregory and husband, Joe of Sherman, Texas; son, James Bradley Keeling and wife, Angela of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jake and Hannah Gregory and Tatum and Quinn Keeling; sisters Margie Sutton of Pottsboro, Texas, and Evelyn Bell of Venus, Texas; and one brother Glen Beames of Venus, Texas.
