Carolee (Steward) Smith Obituary
SHERMAN - Carolee Steward Smith, 41, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Monday, July 1, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home near Luella.

Carolee Steward was born Jan. 2, 1972 in Denison, the daughter of Kenneth Steward and Carol Ramsey. Carolee attended and graduated high school from Glad Tidings in Sherman. She was as sweet and compassionate as any person could be and has absolutely never met a stranger.

Carolee married Danny Smith July 13, 1997 in Caney, Okla., and he faithfully stood by her side until the end of her battle with cancer. She discovered her passion for ministry and would take every opportunity possible to help others in need at the Heritage Park Surgical Center where she worked. She was an active member of Community Bible Fellowship Church and previously Sherman Bible Church, where she served as pre-school ministry director.

Mrs. Smith was actively involved with Women Rock and represented them well when she was asked to throw the first pitch at the Frisco Rough Riders game on April 27, 2013. She loved spending time with her family in the outdoors and enjoyed camping whenever she had a chance. She lived her life to the fullest and left a trail of smiles wherever she went. She will be missed beyond measure by her family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances.

Carolee Smith is survived by her loving family, husband, Danny Smith; daughter, Shelby Morrison; son, Justin Morrison; father, Kenneth Steward and wife Brenda; brother, Kenneth Smith and Lisa Jones; sister, Dequita Virgin and husband Steve; "chosen sister," Brandy Doty and husband James; two nephews, Austin Smith and Caleb Steward, and niece, Makayla Virgin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Sherman Bible Church with Pastor Jeremy Moore of Community Bible Fellowship and Pastor Dennis Henderson of Sherman Bible officiating and interment following at Burleson Cemetery in Luella, Texas. Family visitation will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Smith will be Triston Bannister, Luke Baio, Gary Morrison, Steve Virgin, Kenneth Smith and James Doty.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Women Rock Inc., 115 S. Travis St., Suite 309, Sherman, TX 75090, (903) 487-2825.
