1943 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
DENISON - Davis Max Shaw, age 70, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Max was born August 22, 1943 in Snyder, TX to Davis and Gladys Shaw. Max was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Denison and his four sons: Trent Shaw of Garland TX, Wade Shaw and wife Frances of Royse City, TX, Kyle Shaw and wife Kristen of The Colony, TX, Curtis Shaw and wife Cathy of McKinney, TX, his five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Max's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and many friends. He was an outdoor enthusiast that spent countless hours hunting and fishing with his sons, grandchildren and friends.

Max was a retired banker that spent twenty years with American Bank of Texas in Sherman. In addition to working at American Bank, he also worked as the General Manager at Waterford Harbor Marina in Kemah, TX for the most recent eighteen years. Max greatly enjoyed the time he spent at the marina and the numerous friendships he formed while there. He will be greatly missed by his many friends throughout Texas.

Pallbearers will be Andy J. Patterson, Michael Patterson, Philip Patterson, Alex Shaw, Jeff Weiss, Alan Cowart and honorary pallbearers, Stanley Rose, David Bayless Jr., Buddy Clay, Joe Stanfield, Hans Mair, Bobby McCaleb and Tommy Tipton.

Family visitation will be Thursday March 13, 2014 6-7 p.m. at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison. Funeral Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sherman with Rev. Chris Dowd and Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, TX
