Visitation will be from 6:30 -8 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Scoggins Funeral Home.

Esta was born on October 12, 1926 in Eldarada, Okla. to James Leslie and Minnie Mae (Meadows) Judkins. She attended Jamison school through the 8th grade and Van Alstyne High School, earning her GED in 1960. She married Aubrey Nelson Martin on February 16, 1942 in Van Alstyne. They raised 3 children, James, Sharon, and Billy. Esta was a member of the first Baptist Church of Van Alstyne for many years, teaching Sunday School for several of those years. Studying the Bible was important to her and she felt honored to be able to teach. One of the highlights of her life was a trip she was fortunate to take in 1983 to the Holy Land. She said the Bible became alive and made her want to study even more. She loved the outdoors and all of God's handiwork. She worked in her yard until she lost her eyesight on Mother's Day 2009. One of her greatest joys was playing dominoes with her brothers and sisters. She was employed at Texas Instruments from 1960 - 1989, starting in Dallas, but transferred to the Sherman facility when it was opened.

She is survived by son, James Martin and wife Janet of Van Alstyne; daughter, Sharon Massey and husband Bob of Gunter; son, Billy Martin and wife Jackie of Ector; grandchildren, Michael Martin and wife Tina of Sherman, Steven Martin and wife Alicia of Bailey, Kevin Martin and wife Alice of Trenton, Stacie Hunsaker and husband Boyd of Gunter, Tammy Sanso and husband Derek of Sherman, Bobby Massey and wife Julie of Gunter, Gretchen and Justin Martin of Royce City, and Kyle Wells-Martin of Ector; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren; sister, Euna Faye Grissom of Van Alstyne, brother, Billy Judkins of Lewisville, sister, Pauline Grissom of Fort Smith, Ark., and sister, Eldena Burnett of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, in 1998; son, Aubrey Wayne Martin, parents, Jim and Mae Judkins, and brother, Elmer Joe Judkins.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Martin, Steven Martin, Kevin Martin, Bobby Massey, Justin Martin, and Kyle Wells-Martin. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the , First Baptist Church Van Alstyne, First Baptist Church Gunter, or First Baptist Church, Ector.

A special thank-you goes to the staff of Meadowbrook Care Center who took great care of our mother and grandmother for the past 14 months, Hospice Plus for helping make her last days comfortable, Ruth Bengston who visited faithfully every week reading the Bible to her as she missed that more than anything when she lost her eyesight, and granddaughter, Tammy, who spent part of most every week day with her after she lost her vision.
