COLBERT, Okla. - Mrs. Ilene Lafern Gartman, 54, of Colbert, Okla., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 in Blue Ridge.|
Mrs. Gartman was born on May 8, 1958 in Tulia to Harold Johnston and Glenis Walton Johnston.
Ilene did domestic work and liked fishing, camping, playing bingo and dominoes. She was a high school graduate and has lived in this area the past 29 years
She is survived by her mother, Glenis Johnston of Colbert, Okla.; four children, Billy Gartman and wife Misty of Calera, Okla., Beth Speaker and husband Jason of Blue Ridge, Dallas Hale and wife Christine of King, N.C., and Wesley Johnston of Durant, Okla.
Ilene is survived by three brothers and four sisters, Harold Wayne Johnston and Shirley of Denison, David Johnston and Donna of Colbert, Okla., Ricky Johnston and Deborah of Colbert, Okla., Steven Johnston and Lisa of Colbert, Okla., twin sister Arlene Simons and Gene of Colbert, Okla., Darla Bookout of Colbert, Okla., Janie Lambright and Ray of Humble.
Her 10 grandchildren are, Mattie, Trevor, Landon, Jordan, Mykah, Preslee, Aleigha, Alexis, Alaina and Alexander.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Mrs. Gartman was preceded in death by her father, Harold Johnston in 2012; one sister, Pat Smith; and one grandson, Thomas Seth Gartman.
Services for Mrs. Gartman will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Colbert, Okla., with Pastor Roddy Arnold officiating.
Interment will follow at the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert, Okla.
A family hour visitation will be held 6 -8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at the American Funeral Service, 107 N. Burney St. Colbert, Okla.
Pallbearers serving will be Billy Gartman, Harold Wayne Johnston, Dallas Hale, Ricky Johnston, Wesley Johnston and Steven Johnston.
