DENISON - Jerry "Puddin" Brotherton 67, of Denison, Texas, very loved husband , son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday March 20, 2014.

Jerry was born November 3, 1946 in Denison to Hubert and Dorothy Spoon Brotherton. He attended Denison schools and Grayson County College and was a lifelong Denison resident. He married his soulmate Linda Calfy December 4, 1982 in Denison and they had 31 beautiful, crazy years together. He was a Navy Veteran and very proud of his service to our country.

He worked at LOF until they shut the doors. He was very involved in the American Legion and many more organizations throughout the years. Jerry was an amazing family man, not only to his family but also to his many friends. He was loved and respected by so many. With his quick wit and beautiful smile he never met a stranger. He always had a joke or a funny story to tell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norris "Gabby" Godbey; brother, Jim Cook; son, Ricky Arnold and grandson Taylor Bryant. Surviving is his wife, Linda Brotherton of the home, Denison; mother, Dorthy Godbey of Sherman; sisters, Kathy Clements of Denison, Sheri Irkilata and husband Tamir "Tommy" of Turkey; son, George Christopher; daughters, Glenda "Sissy" Shields and husband Wesley, Beth Brotherton all of Denison, and Laura Underwood; grandsons, Aaron Christopher and Trevor Brotherton and wife Kelly, all of Denison; granddaughter Ashley Sweigert and husband Tony; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Aiden Sweigert, all of Tom Bean.

A Celebration for the life of Jerry "Puddin" Brotherton will be held at 2 p.m. in the afternoon Saturday March 29, 2014 at the American Legion Post 62 419 West Crawford Denison, Texas The register book may be signed and condolences be made online at cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
