DENISON - Jerry Dean Shaw, 72, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Jerry was born September 5, 1940, to Willie Silas and Bessie "Willard" (Mullican) Shaw, in Marlow, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Kathryn (Phillips), and together they created a lifetime of memories during their 39 years of marriage. Jerry was a loving husband and father, and a very dedicated man through and through, serving as a Texas State Trooper for over 40 years. Jerry loved to hunt, fish, and spend as much time outdoors as possible. He was a member of the Texas State Troopers Association (TSTA), Master Mason serving in the Lone Star Lodge 403 in Denison, and a member of the Scottish Rite in Dallas.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn (Phillips) Shaw of Denison; two sons, Jerry Rochelle and wife Lori of Texarkana, Texas, and Joe Rochelle of Texarkana; two daughters, Cathy Smith and husband Mike of Baytown, and Nicole Shaw of Little Elm; five grandchildren, Whitney and husband Jimmy Harvin, Cassy Smith, Michael and wife Hannah Smith, Olivia Rochelle, and Joe Lee Jr Rochelle; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Mason, and Abi Harvin, Liam and Stevie Smith. Also, sister Betty Botts of McKinney, TX and half-sister Linda Goode of Garland; sister-in-law, Shirley Shaw; brother-in-law, Glen Fuller; and a special nephew, Marshal Phillips; and niece Diamond Phillips. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Shaw Fuller; and two brothers, A.W. Shaw, and Kenneth "Buster" Shaw.

Jerry was cremated according to his wishes, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
