John Morgan Adams, 65, passed away at home with his family on October 6, 2011, after a year-long battle with brain cancer.
John was born at home in Collin County, Texas on August 28, 1946, to M.T. and Nellie Ruth (Roper) Adams. He married Marthe Sherley on October 8, 1970. After earning a degree in Math and Physics from East Texas State University, he became a teacher in Anna, Texas. He later worked in road construction, metal fabrication and for many years built communications equipment for the military. He enjoyed antique cars and traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marthe; daughter, Leslie and her husband, Rhett Box of Anna; son, Andy Adams and his wife, Sharon of Greenville, Texas; five grandchildren, John Mark Box, J.R. Box, Jessie Jane Box, Madison Adams and Kate Adams; brother, Charlie Adams of Anna; sister, Betty Morriss of Plano, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Sam and Bob Adams.
Visitation will be at Flesher Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at the Adams cemetery near his home. You may sign the online registry at www.flesherfh.com.
