Laurie Louise Freeland McIntyre Haynes, 51, of Sherman passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, after a long illness.|
She was born on May 25, 1962 in Bastrop, La. to James Earl and Ruth Esther Adams Freeland. Laurie graduated from Bastrop High School. She married the late Greg McIntyre on May 21, 1982. Greg preceded her in death. Laurie married Jimmy Haynes on October 19, 1990.
Laurie was a beloved member of the community, working as a CPA assistant at Janis Crane CPA, Bastrop, La., and at as an administrative assistant at Howe High School, Van Alstyne High School, Pottsboro High School, and Neblett Elementary in Sherman.
Laurie loved God, singing in various groups and churches. She always proclaimed that she was "Blessed and Highly Favored" by the Lord.
Laurie was preceded in death by her first husband Greg McIntyre of Bastrop, La., and her son, Landon Basil McIntyre of Sherman. She is survived by her parents, James Earl and Ruth Esther Adams Freeland; her husband, Jimmy Haynes; her two children, Melody McIntyre Webb of McKinney and Christopher Freeland Haynes of Sherman; one grandson, Tyson Gregory Webb; her brother and sisters, Debbie Freeland Thomas, Karol Freeland Handy, and James Earl Freeland Jr. In addition, Laurie will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A receiving of friends and family will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday, December 6 at Harvest Time Assembly of God, Sherman. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 7 at Harvest Time Assembly of God, Sherman, with Pastor Jonathan Faggart officiating. A graveside service will immediate follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman with Pastor Scott Knight officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up at Harvest Time Assembly of God, 222 S. Heritage, Sherman, TX 75092.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
