Lorita "Sally" Hollingsworth

SHERMAN - Lorita "Sally" (Nevoit) Hollingsworth, 75, of Sherman passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Sally was born to Josiah and Helen Nevoit on June 13, 1937 in Savoy.

Sally was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an avid reader and friend to the Sherman Library, and a long-time donor to Texoma Regional Blood Center. She graduated high school in Oklahoma City followed by the University of Colorado in 1965 with a Teaching degree. In her early years she taught Middle-School age learning disabled children in Santa Clara, Calif.

Locally, Sally was employed as the office manager for a Dairy Queen franchisee with direction over several restaurants for many years. Later she spent several years managing the Dairy Queen restaurant on Morton Street in Denison, Texas. She had a brief career as a Medical Lab Technician and she ended her working career at Texoma Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging.

Sally was loved by many and will be remembered for her voracious love of reading, enjoying her family and friends, and spending time at Choctaw Casino.

She is survived by her former husband, JS Hollingsworth of Grand Junction, Colo.; children, JR and Sue Hollingsworth of Lake Forest, Calif., and Karen Whitlock and Johnny of Sherman; granddaughters, Jessica Hollingsworth of Leonard, Dana Whitlock of Norman, Okla., and Shannon Whitlock of Sherman, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother Harley Nevoit.
