Melba Ann Simpson found peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at TMC Hospital.|
Melba was born on April 22, 1955 in Denison, Texas at Madonna Hospital to Albert and Beatrice Simpson. She attended Virginia Point Methodist Church.
Melba was the second mother to many of her stepchildren, nieces, nephews and children in her neighborhood. She loved flowers of every kind. She was the caregiver of our brother, Robert, in her last years and many of her elderly neighbors even though she was so ill. She always found time for others. She asked for prayers each Sunday in church for someone. Melba donated her body to Science through Genesis Medical Education & Research Institute. Her corneas were harvested at TMC.
Melba is survived by sister, Peggy Gatlin and husband Kenny; sister, Margaret Ames and husband Dick; sister, Betty Worley; sister, Barbara Smith; brother, Willie Simpson and wife, Sharon; brother, Robert Simpson; brother, Doc Simpson and wife Barbara; brother, Chuck Simpson and wife Cindy; brother, Gary Simpson and wife Jeaneen; brother, Floyd Simpson and wife Michelle; her best friend, Ronnie Killough; sisters-in-law, Linda Simpson and Claudette Simpson; her little dog, Rackette, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brothers, Teddy, Carol and Tommy Dale Simpson; nieces, Julia, Kristy, Stephanie Diane, and Carol Ann; great-nephew, Tommy and uncles and aunts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Virginia Point Methodist Church in Savoy with the Rev. Louella Williams officiating.
