Melvin Lewis Obituary
LEWISVILLE - Melvin "Jerome" Lewis, 48, of Lewisville, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, August 10, 2012 and entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior.

Jerome was born on April 13, 1964 in Denison, the son of Melvin and Janice Lewis. He graduated Denison High School in 1982. He was the owner/operator of MJL U.S. Mail Contract Service since 1995 where he was very dedicated up until failing health. Jerome was an active member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Brotherhood.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Mashon Smith-Lewis of Lewisville; three children, Brandon H. Smith of Dallas, Bliss C. Lewis of Denison, Blake J. Lewis of Lubbock; parents, Melvin and Janice Lewis of Denison; sisters, Marva J. Lewis (Kaye) of Baltimore, Md., Michelle Laird-Lewis of Seattle, and Marla Lewis of Denison; grandchildren, Britton R. Jefferson of Denison, Brandon D. Lewis of Lubbock; nieces, Lexus Luper of Denison, Makayla Lewis of Austin; mother- and father-in-law, Harry and Barbara Smith; sisters-in-law: Meschelle Smith of Houston, Mesha Smith of Denison, Marcie Smith Corellet of Allen; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1602 College Pkwy in Lewisville, Texas, 75077. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Dension. The family will receive guests at 902 W. Walker in Denison after the burial.

Services are under the direction of Morris-Bates Funeral Home of Fort Worth.
