Patricia Lou Breece Thomas left this life on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 in Pottsboro to meet her Lord and Savior. Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at Harvest Time Assembly of God Church with Brother Brandon Dona of Central Baptist Church in Bonham officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.|
Family night will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.
Patricia was born May 12, 1943 in Honey Grove, Texas to Henry and Roberta Ruth Breece. She married John P. Thomas the love of her life on July 15, 1960 in Durant, Okla.
Patricia and John resided in Sherman where she worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Quality Assurance Technician until her retirement in 1990. She was awarded the William H. Lycan Award for her outstanding performance as a Q.A. Technician.
Patricia and John were active in the Sherman Elks Lodge. She served several years as the Elkettes president and other Offices along with being Elkette of the year. Patricia was the Sherman Elks Sweetheart and raised money for the handicapped hospital in Octine, Texas, which the Elks support. She raised more money than any other Sweetheart and was crowned Texas State Sweetheart. Patricia was a member of North Park Baptist Church.
Patricia loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, camping and boating. Patricia was a loving wife, mother, "Nannie," sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Thomas; mother, Roberta Ruth 'Granny' Breece; father, Henry Breece; son, Jerry D. Thomas Sr.; daughter-in-law, Sylvia A. Thomas; brother, Don Breece; sisters, Oleta Evans, Louise Kline; brothers-in-law, Roland "Ozzie" Kline, James T. Clark; granddaughter, Emily Thomas, and several other family members.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Thomas of Sherman, Jerry Thomas Jr. and wife Amy of Pottsboro; daughter, Vicki Timpson and husband Michael of Pottsboro; sister, Bonnie Clark of Bonham; sister-in-law, Joan Rogers and husband Delmar of Pottsboro; grandchildren, Terry Thomas and wife Julie of Van Alstyne, Seth Thomas and fiancé Lacey Cecil of Sherman, Jonathan Wright of Pottsboro, Brittany Ahern and husband Sean of Denison, Sara Cummings and husband Kevin of Pottsboro, Shelby Thomas of Sherman, Cassie Thomas Pottsboro, Trinity Thomas of Sherman, and Kinzlee Thomas of Pottsboro; five great-grandchildren, Baylee, Liv, James, Lilly and Gavin; dear friends, Polly Miller and Ruby Tucker.
A special 'Thank You' to Karen Young PA of Center for Family Medicine, all staff of Home Hospice of Grayson County, nurse Robin McDaniel and social worker Valerie Hardenburg.
The family will be at the home of Patricia Thomas in Pottsboro.
