COLBERT, Okla. - Philip Cain McCarley Sr., 83, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at his home in Colbert, Oklahoma. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Colbert, Okla. He was the son of the late W.H. McCarley Jr. and Jewell Cain McCarley.

Mr. McCarley was a graduate of Colbert High School and Southeastern State College. He was hired on at Shell Oil Company as a draftsmen, was later promoted to drafting department supervisor, and also helped recruit personnel. He retired after 34 years in 1986 and returned home to Colbert with his wife, Anna. Phil was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Durant and served as deacon and elder in various locations.

He was a member of the Colbert Masonic Lodge, Little Dixie Shriners and Scottish Rite. He served on the Board of Directors for the Presbyterian Panamerican School in Kingsville for many years. He and his son, Philip Jr., enjoyed the Indian Guide Program of the YMCA for several years. He umpired and coached several Little League teams of baseball and basketball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy (Katie) McCarley and a brother, W.H. McCarley III.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Anna Lou McCarley; daughter, Sarah Fears and husband,

George Fears of Austin: son, Philip McCarley Jr. of Durant, Okla. and grandchildren, Kelsey McCarley, Katie McCarley and Libby Fears.

The family deeply appreciates the staff of Victory Home Health and Hospice, most especially Chuck Manning, who was ever so helpful in making arrangements.

A memorial will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at First Presbyterian Church, Durant, Okla.
