SHERMAN - Philip Martin Lavender, 51, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his home in Sherman, Texas. Philip was born Oct. 20, 1961 in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippine Islands; the son of Rev. Don and Norma (Stillman) Lavender. His parents were missionaries to the Philippines and he spent many years there during his early childhood.|
Philip graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas in 1980. After his marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lynn Dominick, they moved to Federal Way, Washington. Philip and Lynn had one son, Benjamin Joseph Lavender.
Mr. Lavender is survived by his loving family; son, Ben Lavender of Hurst; sister, Donna Lavender Beaver and husband Gary of Sherman; three brothers, Darrel Lavender of Wichita, Kan., Paul Lavender and wife Cathy of Andover, Kan., and John Mark Lavender of Sherman; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father in 1974 and his mother in 2012.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tricia, Roger, John, Sam, Joe, Shirley, Vicki, and Titus, who considered Philip to be a great friend.
A memorial service for Philip Lavender will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Fisher Funeral Home Chapel.
