BELLS - Robert Preston Carter, 65, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at his home in Bells, Texas.

Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Bells on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. with interment following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Bob's cousins' Dr. Steve and Rev. Phil Washburn will officiate.

Bob was born March 12, 1947 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas to Chester Carter and Margaret Washburn Carter. He graduated from Bells High School in 1965, attended Grayson County College, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business from East Texas State University in Commerce in 1971. Bob worked at Brown & Root, McCallister Vending, Hardwick-Etter, Texas Instruments and for many years at Washington Iron Works in Sherman. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bells, and was a 32nd degree mason. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and truly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved going hunting with his sons, taking trips with his friends and family, and spending time with them on the Red River.

Bob is survived by his children: Belenda Carter Frailicks and husband Brent, Lance Carter and wife Billie, and Lonnie Carter and wife Shannon, all of Bells. He will be remembered by his grandchildren: Belenda's sons: Carter and Hogan Harris; Lonnie's children: Preston and Amelia Carter; and Lance's stepson: Jonathan Collins and his two children: Madison and Kayden. He will also be missed by the many cousins he was blessed to grow up with.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, C.R. and Margaret Carter, and his grandparents Virgil and Levie Carter, and Lonnie and Veta Washburn.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Young, Dan Ferguson, Ronnie Joe Morrell, Jerry Dale Branch, Wayne McCarley, Don Harlan, Gary Blevins, and Chris Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter and Hogan Harris, Preston Carter and Jonathan Collins.

The family will be at Mullican Little Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.
