Denison-Wesley "Jay" McCurdy, age 69, entered into eternal life Friday, March 7, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center.|
Mr. McCurdy was born December 25, 1944 in Denison, Texas the son of Wesley and Clotilde (Golden) McCurdy. Jay served in the Army for his Country during the Cuban Crisis. He returned home to meet and marry the love of his life, Pamela Sides. Jay and Pam were married October 30, 1965 and have enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Together they had 3 children; Wesley J. McCurdy Jr, Annissa Morrison and Samantha Deaton.
Jay was a passionate Denison Yellow Jacket and Texas Longhorn fan and enjoyed spending many hours driving. Jay loved spending his time with his family especially his beloved grandchildren. He loved the Lord and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. McCurdy leaves behind his beloved family, wife, Pamela McCurdy of Denison, son Wesley J McCurdy Jr of Sherman, Texas, daughters, Annissa Eve Morrison and husband, Alan of Denison, and Samantha Deaton and husband, Kory of Pottsboro, Texas, grandchildren, Tyler Alan Morrison, Clayton Rupert, Payton Ashley Deaton and Riley Russell Deaton, sisters, Audrey Krider of Sherman and Karen Gamble of Mears, Mich., several nieces, nephews and special friends, Dusty Hunt, Noel Hunt, Guy Hall, Jack Driscoll and Connie Garland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael McCurdy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10 at Fisher Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kory Deaton, Alan Morrison, Stuart Krider, Mark Krider, Daniel Brinkley and Tim Belcher.
