"Reflection of Her Life"

Willie Mae Elijah, 84, of Fort Pierce, Fla. departed this life on January 14, 2014 at Homestead of Sherman.

She was born on April 28, 1929 in Florence, S.C., daughter of Willie Gaskin and Annie Gaskin. She was a licensed practical nurse and had been employed at Graystone Park Hospital in Morristown, N.J. She married James Edward Elijah.

Mrs. Elijah was preceded death by her mother, Annie Gaskin; father, Willie Gaskin; brothers, Raymond Gaskin, Timothy Wm., Joe Wm., Wesley Gasque, Willie Barnes Jr., Horace Barnes; sisters, Mildred Graham, Ruth Marshall, Rosa Judge, Almeta Albury, Edith Smith, Gladys Smith and Gladys Mitchell; daughter, Carolyn Ahmadi.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her devoted husband, James Elijah; children, Mrs. Sandra Orr-Mask (Monte) and Vernon Gaskin (Catherine Little); and sister, Helen Stanback; grandchildren, Terrence Orr (Sandra), Andre Orr, Ishmel Gaskin,Vernon Gaskin Jr., Salaudine Gaskin, Rasheda Gaskin, B. Gaskin; great and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Bobbie Gaskin, Julia Barnes; and brother-in-law, Goldie Ross (Pat).

Cravens Funeral Home is in charge of personal care in Sherman.

Public viewing will be held from 5 -8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard, Tampa, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the funeral home in Tampa. Interment will follow at the VA Cemetery at Florida National in Bushnell, Fla. Repast will be at 5809 50th St., Classic Events Hall.
