Wyatt Griffin Obituary
VAN ALSTYNE - Wyatt was born in the Rosehill Community south of Tom Bean, February 18, 1922. He passed away August 2, 2014 at the age of 92. He was the son of Vardy and Sallie (Langford) Griffin. He drove a gas delivery truck for Dawson Propane Company for 35 years. He retired in 1992 to enjoy his farm and his cattle.


He is survived by his wife Lela (McFerrin) Griffin, daughter Jean (Joe) Sims; three sons, James (Florene) Griffin, Sam Griffin, Charles Griffin; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Griffin; grandchildren, Jeff (Sandy) Sims, Jana Castellano, John Lloyd (Beck) Griffin, Eddie (Tabitha) Griffin, Tracye Carlton, Ami Cruce, Morgan Griffin, Daniel Griffin, 11 great grandchildren; stepchildren, John (Michelle) Chesser, Earl (Donna) Chesser, Beverly Gunn, Judy (David) Smith, Scott (Cynthia) Chesser, Stephanie Chesser, Stacy Chesser, Jennifer Cummings, Jordan Smith, Austin Chesser, Matthew Chesser, and four step grandchildren.


He was preceeded in death by his parents, one son, Richard Griffin, and step grandson, Brian Chesser.


Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Van Alstyne Cemetery with A.C. Quinn and Shannon Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne.
