DENISON - Billie Jo "Dymples" (Haworth) Pickens answered God's call into eternal life Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the age of 93.|
Billie was born at home December 14, 1920 in Yuba, Oklahoma, weighing only 4 lbs the daughter of Jerome L. and Lena Kathryn (Settle) Haworth. She was the youngest of six children. Her brothers, Troy Haworth, Loren Haworth and Kenneth Haworth and sisters, Gladys Taylor and Pauline Simpson have all preceded her into eternal life.
Billie married Ragnol Pickens on August 4, 1939 in Brown, Oklahoma. Living in Bryan County all their life, they had four children, Linda Hamers of Denison, TX, James Ragnol Pickens and wife, Patricia of Denison, TX, Stanley Joe Pickens and wife, Brenda of Cartwright, OK and Terry Lynn Pickens and wife, Carrie of Kilgore, TX. Billie had nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Billie enjoyed meeting people, sewing and writing poetry. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joshua Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Coty Liverman, Trenten Pickens, Branden Pickens, John Hamers, Steven
Bowen and Thomas Myers.
