SHERMAN - Julian Asbury passed away on Thursday, the 19th of June, from a tragic accident.

There will be a memorial at 6 p.m. on June the 23rd at the Elks Lodge on 1417 with dinner following.

In lieu of flowers donations would be welcomed sent to Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman to help with funeral expenses.

Julian was born June 24th, 1943 to Dora and Jim Gann in Sherman, Texas.

Julian joined the airforce at age 19 and served for four years. He had an honorable discharge. He married Judy Cloer July the 12th in 1969. They had four children, three daughters and one son. He also had two sons from a previous relationship. Judy passed away in 1995. He will join her now in Heaven.

He was a truck driver for many years. He loved hot rods, fishing and he enjoyed the company of old friends; swapping tall tales and boy did they ever; and having a beer or two because that just was him.

He had 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His grandchildren were very important to him. They called 'Pawpaw,' or 'Grandpa Jokie.' He was so proud and boastful of the kids, always bragging on the children.

He is preceded in death by his wife Judy Karen, his mother and dad, James Gann and Dora Gann, brothers Albert Earl Gann, James Oliver Gann, Walter Thomas Gann and sisters, Lois Mae Redbird, Joyce Janel Nichols, Dora Helen Vanneste and granddaughter Jessica Bacchus.

He is survived by his sisters, Royce Pickard of Sherman, Mary Goodman of Palmer, Texas, Carolyn Matherly of Mabank, Texas; his sons, Chad Gann, Kelly Gann, Rodney Gann; his daughters, Sarah Shearer, Christy and Mike Owens and July Gann; grandchildren, Heather Miller, Kimberli Gann, Michael Owen, Kegan Foster, Eric Gann, Colton Foster, Kacey Owen, Kaity Hall, Lorin Gann, Abby Gann; g. grandchildren, Kinzie, Landon, Dillon, Jordyn.

He will be missed by all.
