DENISON - Kathleen "Betty" Holland, age 94, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Denison Manor.|
Mrs. Holland was born May 5, 1920 in Romford Essex, England; the daughter of William and Adair. She married the love of her life, Leonard "Jim" Holland, on January 27, 1940 in England. Betty and her family moved to the Texoma area in 1960. Kathleen worked at Texas Instruments for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the British Wives Club; she worked actively as a volunteer at Texoma Medical Center, Helping Hands and Reba Ranch House, and was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a special woman who will be missed deeply by her family and friends.
Mrs. Holland is survived by her loving family, daughter, Barbara and husband, Richard Waters, three sons, Michael and wife, Jan, Paul, and John and wife, Kathleen; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Doreen and sisters-in-law, Diana, Mary and Doreen all of the UK and many nieces and nephews in the US and UK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Jim" Holland, parents, two sisters and four brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with the Very Rev. Donald Perschall officiating. A reception will follow in Kofeldt Hall.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Home Health, Denison Manor and Home Hospice of Grayson County for the loving care that they provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Reba Ranch House or donor's choice.
