Jack Wyatt Obituary
Jack Leighton Wyatt was born April 26, 1935, in Whitesboro, Texas. He died July 31, 2014 in Huntsville, Texas.

Jack graduated from Sherman High School, Sherman, Texas, in 1953 where he served as president of his senior class and president of the student council. He graduated from Texas A&M University in January, 1958 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. At A&M he served as the Commanding Officer of "A" Chemical Company and was designated as a Distinguished Military Graduate. On April 5, 1958, Jack married Yuca Lee Sheafor in Texas City, Texas.

After college Jack served a six month tour of duty as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Chemical Corps in Anniston, Alabama. He worked for Union Carbide Corporation for 35 years in Texas, Louisiana, and West Virginia before retiring in 1993. He and his wife, Yuca, moved to Huntsville in 1997. He served as treasurer, vice-president, and president of the Elkins Lake Men's Golf Association. He was active in volunteer work with AARP tax assistance for seniors and with Huntsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yuca Lee Sheafor Wyatt, his daughter and son-in-law, Leesa and Tim Lerchbacker, his grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Wyatt, and Krysten and Kallie Lerchbacker. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Wyatt, his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Laura Wyatt, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Leighton Wyatt, his parents Clyde and Lillie Wyatt, his brothers, Alfred and Gene Wyatt, and his sisters, Lela Wineinger, Lena Wilson, and Margaret Costello.

A Celebration of Life for Jack will be held at Huntsville Church of Christ on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. Visitation with the family will be held before the service from 1 to 2.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Jack Wyatt Memorial Scholarship Fund, Walker County A & M Club, c/o Kenneth Davis, PO Box 6308, Huntsville, TX 77342-6308.
