DENISON – Pauline Rose 'Polly' Mocek, 82, of Denison, passed away Thursday evening, August 14th, at Beacon Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 18th, in Dannel Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 19th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Celebrant will be Fr. Antonio Aurelius. Interment will follow immediately afterward in St. Mary's Cemetery in south Sherman.|
Polly was born January 8, 1932, in Bremond, Texas, to Mike and Julia Wierzbicki. She was number ten of twelve children. On July 9, 1949, she married Stanley Mocek of Bremond, TX. Soon afterward, they relocated to Chicago, IL, where they raised their four sons. In addition to taking care of her family and much involvement in community affairs, Polly also owned her own beauty business for twenty years. She was well known for her artistry and skill. In 1979, Polly and Stanley realized a long-held dream when they returned to Texas, on a twenty acre spread near Sherman.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her son Wayne and one grandson, Michael.
She is survived by her children: Don Mocek and wife Kathy of Sherman, Larry Mocek and wife Gail of Sherman, and Stanley Mocek and wife Elizabeth of Chicago; four grandchildren: Aaron Mocek, Larry Mocek, Cynthia Bucher and Tommy Mocek; and one great-grandchild; brother Kie Wierzbicki and wife Celia of Fort Worth, TX, and Cecilia Filar and husband Edward of Bremond, TX.
Polly's family would like to extend a huge 'thank-you' to the staff of Beacon Hill in Denison, for the loving care they provided 'our mom'!
