Paula Jean Burns Wade died peacefully July 10, 2010 in Atascadero, Calif. after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2009. Mama's wishes were to be cremated. Her memorial service with be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at St. Mary's Church in Sherman with Fr. Jeremy officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29 at the church.

She was born on July 26, 1944 in Ft. Worth, to Andrew Jackson and Anne D. Duval Burns. Paula married William "Bill" Wade on Aug. 2 or 3, 1962 (day depended on which one you asked) in Ft. Worth. She worked at Oscar Mayer for many years and most recently traveled throughout the United States with Daddy and his job as an insurance adjuster.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughters, Melanie and Dwayne Howard of Denison, Janet and Jay Ables of Atascadero, Calif.; sons, Curtis and Debbie Wade of Sherman, Matt and Monica Wade of Nacogdoches and Nick Wade of Denison. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with two more due soon, her sister Patricia "Billie Anne" Guffee of Garland and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sonny Burns.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to St. Mary's Church or to Home Hospice, which took great care of Mama these last few months.
