KEMP, Okla. - Mr. Carol Gene Orr, 78, of Kemp, Okla. passed away Monday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2010 at his home.

He was born Aug. 29, 1932 in Pilot Point, and moved to Ardmore, Okla. as a child and attended Ardmore schools. He entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean War at 17 years old.
He married Loretta Ennis Oct. 9, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as an engineer in heavy construction in California most of his life and was a union member. He moved to Kemp in 1986 and was a school bus driver in Denison before retirement.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother, Almeda and a son, Lonnie Orr. Surviving is his wife, Loretta Orr of the home in Kemp, Okla.; daughters, Linda Zapata and husband, Dan of Waldorf, Maryland, Rhonda Swepston and husband, Fred of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shelley Ervin and husband, Kirk of Kemp, Okla.; son, Curt Orr of Lancaster, Calif.; grandchildren, Daniel, Adam and Christina Zapata, Luke, Keli and Kimberly Orr and their mother, Vernie, Tiffany and Brian Swepston, Klinton, Keith and Katelynn Ervin; eight great-grandchildren and three on the way.
Funeral services for Carol Gene Orr will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at Cunningham Funeral Chapel in Colbert with Mr. Jan Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Kemp Cemetery. Family hours will be from 3 -5 p.m. Sunday at Cunningham Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to Loretta Orr, 1562 Peanut Trail, Hendrix, OK 74741. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
