SOUTHMAYD - Jimmie Coleman Crosby, 71-year-old Southmayd resident, passed away Nov. 18, 2010 at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham. A memorial get-together for friends and family will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Daryl Crosby's home at 564 Emily Lane, five miles east of Van Alstyne.

Mr. Crosby was born in Gunter, the son of Henry and Myrtle Crosby. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany. After he retired, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Among his survivors are his brothers, Terry Crosby of Van Alstyne, Don Crosby of Southmayd and Wayne Crosby of Nunn, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Crosby; brothers, Roy Crosby, Jack Crosby and Bill Crosby; and sister, Flodell Dempsey.
