H.L. "Bill" Wheat Obituary
H. L. "Bill" Wheat, the longtime Denison resident passed away on April 12, 2012 at the age of 87 with his beloved wife Peggy at his side. He was born into a large family in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma and was preceded in death by his 13 siblings. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and served during World War II. He worked for Sherwin-Williams and Glidden paint companies for 35 years and was a member of Waples Methodist Church, the Denison Lions Club and the Billie Mosse Lodge. As a lifelong musician he took great pleasure in playing guitar and bass in local bands.

Peggy, his wife of 65 years, survives him. His children are Gary and wife Brenda of Lake Dallas, Bill and wife Lynn of Austin and Vicki and husband Robert of Pottsboro. His grandchildren are Julie, Lisa, Jacob and wife Shamrea, David and Jesse. His great-grandchildren are Karie, Camryn and Jackson. Great-granddaughter Annalouise is due any day now.

He was a humble man that lived his life as an example for all of us and will live in our hearts forever.

Services will be at Waples Methodist Church on Monday, April 16, 2012. The family will welcome friends at the parlor at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. and burial at Fairview Cemetery.
