Ray Fontaine Obituary
Sherman - Funeral services for Ray Fontaine will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday August 21 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Wood of the West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Derek Irvin, Dax Irvin, Tyler Fontaine, Jeremy Fontaine, Jacob Irvin, and David Smith serving as pallbearers. Mr. Fontaine, 87, passed away Saturday August 18 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Medical Center.

Ray was born March 25, 1925 in Pottsboro, Texas to the late Claude and Cuzzie (Waggoner) Fontaine. He graduated from Denison schools in 1943 and married Dovie McGuire in Sherman on March 25, 1944. Mr. Fontaine loved frying donuts as the owner of Daylight Donuts in Sherman for 45 years. He was a longtime member of the West Sherman Baptist Church.

Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dovie of Sherman; two daughters, JoAnn Irvin and Janet Fontaine, both of Sherman; four sons, Steve Fontaine and wife Sharon of Waco, Bruce Fontaine of Alexandria, LA, Barry Fontaine and wife Laura of Sherman, and Jerry Fontaine of Celina; eight-grandchildren, David Irvin and wife Jennifer, Derek Irvin and wife Misty, Shanna Garcia and husband Joe, Casie Rivas and husband Carlos, Leslie Rosencrans and husband Matt, Lauren Ferguson and husband Matt, Jeremy Fontaine, and Tyler Fontaine and wife Kristen; five great-grandchildren, Dax, Zoie, CoCo, Sayla, and Samuel; and one sister, Billy Bates of North Richland Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, TJ Fontaine and CP Fontaine Jr; and son-in-law, Doug Irvin.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday August 20 at Waldo Funeral Home. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
