GORDONVILLE - A memorial service for Michael Cletus Curtis will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 in the First Baptist Church of Gordonville. Rev. Clarence "Farmer" Jones will officiate. Mr. Curtis, 57, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 8, 2013 in Gordonville.

Mike was born Nov. 21, 1955 in Fort Sill, Okla. to Curt and Joye (Liles) Tisdale. He was well known for his construction skills. Mike was also an active member in the community. He volunteered on the Sherwood Shores Volunteer Fire Department for more than 10 years and served as Fire Chief for four of those years. He was a co-founder of the annual wild game cook-off and helped with other fund raising events for several years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wanda (Russell) Curtis of Sherwood Shores; one daughter, Angel Russell of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Hunter Cummings of Whitesboro, and Clint and Seth Curtis, both of Sherwood Shores; six grandchildren; mother, Joye Tisdale of Sherwood Shores; one brother, Steve Curtis of Sherwood Shores; two sisters, Patricia Plummer of Dallas and Melissa Manning of Whitesboro; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Curt Tisdale.
The family will receive friends at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the First Baptist Church of Gordonville. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
