CALERA, Okla. - Mr. Robert "Bob" Carroll McVeigh, 84, of Calera, Okla., passed away at Medical Center in Plano, Texas on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

Mr. McVeigh was born to John Arthur McVeigh and Ruby Hulsey McVeigh on May 31, 1928 in McAlester, Okla.
He married Marlene Capps on July 9, 1969 in Denison, Texas.
Robert graduated from Calera High School in 1947, entered the Navy at age 17, and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After teaching and being an administrator for several years, he owned a series of automobile dealerships.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marlene of the home; son, Dr. Robert Sanders, Denison, Texas; Aretha Chandler, the Mother of children, Mel McVeigh and wife Rebecca of Grapevine, Texas; daughters: Merilee Dennis, Kay McVeigh, Carole Sterling and husband, Lloyd Parker all of Calera; Children, Carolyn Williams and Lloyd Capps, Calera.
Helen Cox and husband Emanuel Sarger of Round Rock, Texas; sister, Judy Fitzer of Edmond, Okla; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Guy McVeigh, son Loran Williams, and grandson Dustin McVeigh.
Funeral services are set for Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Calera High School Gymnasium, with Reverend Jacob Toews officiating.
Interment will follow the services at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera.
Pallbearers serving are J.R. Moody, Bobby Moody, Chad McVeigh, Andy McVeigh, Thomas McVeigh, Bill Buck, Abe Evans, Stephen Horton.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lloyd Capps, Lloyd Parker, Harold Haddock, James Spivey, Farrell Hatch, John Massey, Danny Russell, Dwayne Simpson, Joe Wasson, Earl Jackson, Joe Barrett.
