She was born September 17, 1931 in Bonham, Texas to the late James (Big Jim) and Dovie Lee Thomison of Dodd City, Texas. She was an employee of Texas Instruments, retiring after a lengthy term of employment. She loved having her children and family together and especially loved to cook for them during the holidays. She was an amazing cook, always getting compliments for whatever she cooked, especially her coconut cake which resembled a giant snowball.
At gatherings, she was always the life of the party, telling jokes and getting laughs. She was always very proper in her dress, getting her hair done every Friday after work. An avid dancer, she would put on her hot pants, fancy blouse, and go-go boots and go out dancing to enjoy life. She taught her son Rickey and daughter Janie to dance a variety of dances. To entertain at family gathering, she would get family members engaged in a variety of competitive board games and dart boarding. She loved nature and made it a point to take her son, daughter, and grandchildren on camp outings. She will be immensely missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by brother John and wife Martha Thomison of Gunter, Texas; sisters Ann and Peggy Thomison of Garland, Texas; Caroline Thomison of Tom Bean, Texas; son Rickey and wife Vonnie Orr of Corinth, Texas; daughter Janie and husband Ascension Reyes of Burkburnett, Texas; grandchildren Jeff Sellers, Crystal Ring, Tammie Studhalter, Amanda Huser, and Michael Paramo; great-grandchildren Taylor, CJ, and Brooklyn Broadway, Sammie Sellers, Austin and Kali Huser, and Carrigan and Brielle Ring. She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Susan Gunn, parents James (Big Jim) and Dovie Lee Thomison, brother James (Lightning) Thomison and sister Betty Craig.
May God Bless the personnel at Sheriden Medical Lodge in Burkburnett who took great care of her while a resident and United Regional Heath Care System in Wichita Falls who were present with her during her last moments of living
