Calvin Baker Obituary

Calvin "Cal" Baker, 79, of Plano, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2018.
The son of Charles Alfred Baker and Madeline Ura Pennington, Cal was born in Austin, Texas on September 6, 1938. He graduated from McCallum High School and earned a Business Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Cal enjoyed a successful business career with The Boeing Company, Collins Radio, Texas Instruments and EDS. Upon his retirement from the information systems industry, he opened Minuteman Press in Addison, Texas, where he built a thriving commercial printing business with his family, employees and loyal clientele.
Cal was an avid golfer, and boat captain, experiencing the best of times with friends and family at his Lake Texoma compound where there was never a dull moment. He also enjoyed long road trips and the status associated with expertly pulling a sparkling Airstream touring coach. Cal was actively involved in volunteering and served on the Grayson County Child Welfare Board of Directors for 10 years.
Cal is survived by his loving wife, traveling companion and best friend of 59 years, Martha Baker, and their three children: Rex, Robin and Chad. He was extremely proud of his five grandchildren: Shelby, Preston, Blake, Todd and Will. Cal is additionally survived by a host of loving family and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for your love & prayers which have truly sustained us over these last few days & provided the peace that passes all understanding.

I was very sorry to find out many years after the fact that Cal has passed. I am grateful for the 3 years he employed me. Even though I was not an ideal employee, Cal and his family taught me life lessons by example that I still apply to my own family and grandchild today.
My condolences to Martha, Rex, Robin and Chad.
God bless
