WINNSBORO —A graveside service with full military honors celebrating the life of Mr. James A. Williamson was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Hudson Street Ext. in Winnsboro. The family received friends after the service at the graveside.

Born in LaGrange, Ga., Mr. Williamson was the son of the late Benjamin C. and Pauline W. Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mrs. Joan M. Williamson.

Mr. Williamson retired from the United States Army after 27 years of service where he served in WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. He received many metals including and Air Metal, Bronze Star Metal, and the Silver Star to name a few. Before entering the military, Mr. Williamson graduated from Northwestern University where is received a MBA in Business.

Mr. Williamson is predeceased by his first wife, Daphine Williamson; two sons, James Van and Stephen Mark Williamson; and siblings Willet and John Williamson.
