Arndt Jr., Allan Lawrence "Butch"
January 20, 1959-May 22, 2015 Allan was born January 20, 1959 to Jennie Arndt (Bullock) and Allan Arndt Sr. He passed away May 22, 2015 after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was happy to be surrounded by family, friends and his kitties in his last days. He grew up in the Everett area and on September 30, 1976 at the age of 17, left home to join the Navy. He traveled to many places including San Francisco, Hawaii, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and China. During his time spent in the Navy, he attended classes and earned his GED. He received an honorable discharge on September 29, 1982. After the Navy, Allan had several jobs but settled in at Seattle's Franz Bakery where he worked for 27 years before retiring in 2015 due to his illness. While there, he made many friends, whom he called his "other family". Allan's family would like to thank them for loving him in his career as well as in his final months. Special thanks to Vicky and many others. We would also like to thank his family and friends who kept him smiling in his last months: Cousins, Sue Baglow, Tara Ottenberg, Carol and Wayne Brewer and Shelly and Alayna Cox; friends, George Dau, Richard and Kim Dau, Doug Thompson, Judie and Butch Hendershot and Roger Johnson. Immeasurable thanks to Providence Hospice of Snohomish County for helping us along our journey. Debbie H. has been a blessing to our family more than once. You and your team are truly angels on Earth. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie Arndt and Allan Arndt Sr. as well as two infant brothers, Michael Rae Arndt and Anthony Loren Arndt. He is survived by his brother, Gary Arndt and Gary's wife, Tina; as well as his nieces and nephews, Kenndralilli Arndt, Brycen Arndt and his girlfriend Christina Crews and their baby boy Flynn Thomas Allan Arndt, Makhia Arndt, Caleb Teel and Sierna Teel. Allan is survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles as well. You were all his pride and joy and the loves of his heart. Also, Allan leaves behind his three kitties (his kids) Inky, Spots and Tabby, who were by his side through everything. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile an witty sense of humor. If he was in the room, you knew you'd be laughing and having a good time. That smile will eternally be the greatest gift. Thank you, Butch! A celebration of life will be held at Allan's childhood home at 1732 Rainier Ave, Everett, WA 98201 on Sunday, June 7, 2015. There will be no set time. The house will be open to visitors all day with a BBQ potluck in the late afternoon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Providence Hospice of Snohomish County, Providence Oncology Dept. or to any local animal shelter in his honor.
